Creating and editing map shapes

Maps can be edited from the detail page of any project. The map typically located on the first tab and is visible to anyone with at least view access. If the map is not editable you do not have edit permissions, please contact your system administrator.

Creating Shapes
At the top left corner of the map are five options for map objects that you can create. These include polyline, polygon, rectangle, circle, and a point marker. Click on any of the shapes to begin editing, the following describes the procedure for creating each shape.
Polyline or Polygon - Click the map to place each point of the feature. To can click the “Delete last point” button to remove the most recently placed point. To finish click the “Finish” button or double click to place the final point and finish the shape. For polygons you can also click the first point placed to close the shape.
Rectangle or Circle - Click and hold to place the first point of the shape. While holding, drag your mouse to the desired size and then release to close the shape.
Point Marker - Click the map at the location you would like to place the point
Shapes are saved automatically, it is not necessary to click an additional save button.

Editing or Deleting Shapes
To edit or delete an existing shape first click the shape on the map. The shape is selected when it turns from light blue to dark blue. After selecting a shape the edit and delete icons will activate on the left side of the map.

Click the “edit layers” icon to edit the shape. This will activate anchor points and allow you to modify the shape. When you are finished click “Save” or “Cancel” to undo the changes.
Click the “delete layers” icon to delete a shape. The shape will be removed immediately but you must click save for the deletion to be permanent.
